Ginger Shorties pattern for Riley Blake Fabrics August 12, 2015 – Posted in: Pattern
Whoever coined the phrase “necessity is the mother of invention” was clearly a mother in need of something for her kids! My girls are all playing soccer this year and I suddenly have to provide practice uniforms for them. My girls. The ones who are never NOT in a dress! What’s a Mama to do? Make some awesome shorts, of course!
And the girls won’t stop wearing them. They’re fully obsessed and are requesting multiple pairs to wear to bed, to school, to the grocery store, you name it!
I love yoga waistbands on bottoms, but it usually requires fabric with some sort of lycra to retain the shape and stay in place. I was able to create the same thing with just the amazing Riley Blake knits, no lycra or spandex needed! I need to make some for myself next!
They really are as comfy as they look. These knits are a dream to sew on and they wash and wear amazingly well, too.
And because they’re so awesome and comfortable, I’m giving you all the pattern for free!! Just like most of my patterns, it’s available in sizes 12m-8!
