Last year I posted a story about some shirts I made for a special friend of mine (please go read that post to understand this one better). This year I thought long and hard about what I wanted to make for my friend’s little girls to celebrate their brother’s birthday.

I decided short sleeve peasant dress sounded like a fabulous idea. I hunted down this sweet butterfly fabric, keeping true to the theme, and got to work.

It only took me a few hours one night to whip up both dresses.

And I love that each thing I make, I’m learning more about how to use my serger and how to give it a more professional look.

Her girls are the same (approximate) ages as my girls, so I was able to have them model the dresses for me.

They’re weren’t very cooperative, but you get the idea!

Staying true to my tradition, I didn’t mention this to her at all, I just made the dresses and mailed them. And though I think by now she’s come to expect a package from me, I always hold my breath hoping she likes what she finds inside!

So now I’m asking you, dear blog reader, won’t you join me in doing a random act of kindness today to honor the memory of a sweet little boy on the anniversary of his birth?
