sewVery’s Sunny Dress August 13, 2014 – Posted in: Sewing
I had the pleasure of testing sewVery’s Sunny Dress during the Summer Sundress Series on Melly Sews, and now I’m so happy to help the amazing Veronica promote her very first pattern!
Sofia instantly loved the Sunny Dress because of the open back. I’ve mentioned several times before that her back heats her up in the summer and I tried to make her as many backless clothing options as possible. This dress definitely fit the bill and she wore it most of the summer! She even chose it for her family birthday party we had at my parents house.
But sadly Sofia had a huge growth spurt this summer (that kid completely skipped an entire shoe size!) and the dress no longer fits her. Luckily for Chloe, however, it’s nearly perfect. And she LOVES it.
When I was making the dress, I didn’t pay attention to the cut lines and I cut it too short, so I added the contrast from the ruffle to the bottom and I’m wild about the result.
The adorable little ruffle puts the perfect touch on the dress.
And didn’t I mention the beautiful, open back?! So sweetly incredible.

Wow! It’s great that Chloe can already wear the dress! She looks precious in it. Thanks for taking the time to test my pattern and be a part of the tour, Melissa. I know you are extremely busy, and it means a lot to me that you were willing to help out!
