Fall Break October 12, 2010 – Posted in: Family

I’ve been sewing up a storm lately, working on orders I have for the holidays. I feel so guilty every day as I mutter from my machine, “Mommy can’t read that book right now, Sofie. I have to work.” And even worse when it’s, “Don’t cry, Chloe! I’ll pick you up when I finish this hem!” So when my Mom announced there was a fall festival in her neighborhood for kids, I jumped at the chance to go!

My sister was there with my nieces and the girls all had a blast!

There was a pony ride,

and Sofie and Emily went first.

Then Katie and Madison had a turn,

and Sofie yelled and waved to them and the hee-hee (horse) with as much passion as she could muster!

While they were riding, Sof and Emmy played in the little bounce house,

then made it over to the big bouncy thing!

One of the things I love so much about my nieces is that they ADORE my Sofie. They want her to be included in everything they do, so instead of running off and enjoying themselves, they’re willing to go slow and help her the whole way through, so she can enjoy it too!!

Aaaaand that was Sofie’s one and only time down the slide!

After playing for a while, the girls took a break and painted pumpkins,

And my sweet Chloe spent the day hanging out, watching the big kids play.

It was so wonderful to get away from the sewing for a few hours and do something fun with my girls! The amazing weather didn’t hurt much, either!
