We’re alive! February 13, 2012 – Posted in: Family
WHEW. That’s about all I can come up with to describe the last few weeks.
I shared in December that we found out the house we’ve been renting for 2 years was foreclosed and we were going to have to move. We made a deal with the bank to move out in 30 days and we were shopping for a house. Well, we found a house! We close on it this week and are sooo excited. The only problem is we don’t take possession of it for several weeks! The owners are elderly and asked for some time to get their things together and move out and we agreed. So we decided to pack everything and put it in storage and we are now living with my parents for the next 6-8 weeks! The last 10 days have been a complete whirlwind of packing, moving, cleaning, loading, and getting out of the house. And in the middle of it all, The Hubs’ Grandpa died.
Today is the first day in a very long time that I haven’t had a list a mile long of things to do! We are going to be making Valentine’s for Sofie to take to school tomorrow so I’ll post about that later. I’ve also got my very first sponsor lined up with a giveaway, so stay tuned for that, too! The dust is finally settling and I’ve got some really fun projects lined up to work on while we’re crashing at Grammy and Granddad’s house! And there’s only 12 days until the next Christmas projects are up! Have you been working on yours?

Glad you’re back! I made both your makeup bag (made 3 so far) and your bigger cosmetic bag (minus the vinyl). They were such a hit. Everyone loves them and can’t believe these were some of my first sewing projects. Can’t wait to see what you have in store for the future, and you’re awesome tutorials. AND GIVEAWAYS!

OMG Do I know about moving. We are military and every time my husband deployed I packed up and moved to Michigan for the year from Tennessee. In April we are making the long haul, moving from Tennessee to West Virginia. My husband is getting out of the Army. I HATE moving. I pray that the rest of your move goes well and comes quickly! I love your blog!

I know what you mean, Jamie! My Dad was in the Army and I’ve continued moving in adulthood. This move is my 28th! I’m only 29!

Jamie, I went to your blog from Pinterest because of the name. My mom was an amazing seamstress, and I wish that I had taken the time to learn more from her. Your tutorials are really easy to follow. I wanted to ask you if you could blog more about your move. Moving for me is parayzing. I need to sell my house and relocate, and I just keep putting it off. I would need something like you had- a deadline and no choice to make me do it. It’s so overwhelming. I want to purge as I pack. My granddaughter looks to be about your daughter’s age, so I will be following along.:0) Condolences to your husband.:o(

Sorry to hear about the current house, but glad to hear that you will be moving into one of your very own! That is so exciting. Not the whole act of moving of course, but exciting nonetheless. 🙂 Congratulations!
