Beating the Flu and a giveaway!

Has your family been sick a lot this year? If there’s one thing I try to avoid every winter it’s the constant string of cold and flu that goes around. We were lucky this year and managed to escape all but the crud and some ear infections right around Christmas, but have otherwise been healthy!
I like to think it’s because of our healthy diet, making sure the girls get plenty of rest, constant hand washing and some common sense. Even with two in Preschool, and being in a state affected severely by the flu, we’ve managed to get around it all!
I was bracing for it to be awful, prepared with lots of medicine, chest rub, and an arsenal of humidifiers that I’m glad to say have been largely unused. I’ve talked before about how I like to make my own cleaners for the house and while they’re amazing, I’m still scared about them actually killing cold and flu germs that can live on surfaces.
So while my vinegar and baking soda can clean just about any mess, I prefer to fight fire with Clorox. We’ve taught the girls to sneeze in their elbows and everyone is using my flannel tissues, which get tossed immediately into the washer and don’t wind up all over the house, or torn into pieces by the baby, like other tissues have in the past.
Sofie has approached fighting germs like a job! She’s so happy to wash her hands many times a day (though I think she’s playing in the water more than anything!), and has a blast taking Clorox Disinfecting Wipes and cleaning off all door knobs, faucets, the fridge handles, and any other surface we touch with our hands on a regular basis. Several times I’ve caught her going the extra mile and wiping off my cell phone, the remote, my laptop, keys, and her iPod. She loves to help and I love to encourage the elimination of potentially nasty germs!
We still have several months of cold and flu season left, but I’m confident we can escape it if we keep up with our system. Have you developed a similar system for your family? With 3 girls (ages 5, 3, and 1), we fight off a lot of germs each day! I love clorox clean-up with bleach for a great all around cleaner. And of course those clorox wipes–they are so handy especially for keeping a bathroom clean!

My fav is plain ol’ Clorox bleach ( preferably the Linen scented one). It is so versatile! Just the other day I used it to clean a spot on a white shirt, disinfect the stone floor that the puppy peed on (yes, ewww!) and scrub the tea stains out of the iced tea maker. I use it sparingly but a little goes a long way. Sometimes like you implied, sometimes “clean” just isn’t CLEAN until it’s been Cloroxed.

I LOVE Clorox wipes. I use them for everything; at home, at work, everywhere! My office sees a lot of people coming in and out every day. I love wiping down the door knobs, keyboards and phones and knowing they’re clean and germ-free.

I use the disinfecting wipes all over the house where ever I think germs might be hiding. I also use the toilet bowl cleaner – it does a better job of cleaning than others I have tried. Thanks for the giveaway.

Love Clorox Wipes. I can give them to all four kids and have them hit all surfaces. Following behind to make sure to get door knobs and handles get done, but they feel like they are helping and it helps them start good habits.

I love the Clorox wipes! Living with 7 people, you are bound to get sick quite often. I use the wipes to clean doorknobs, keyboards, telephones, and all shared areas of the house. They keep us happy and healthy!

I keep a tub of Clorox wipes handy in my kitchen and bathrooms for quick and easy cleanups. I also love to use the Clorox spray for all my other cleaning chores. We haven’t been hit with the flu at my house either and I think its thanks to eating healthy, lots of vitamin D and C, and keeping our home clean with Clorox!

I have a 7 year old girl, a 2 year old girl, and a 1 year old boy. In our home Clorox wipes are a must! My oldest loves helping me clean up using Clorox wipes. They’re easy for her – grab and go, no measuring, twisting, or harmful sprays that she may inhale or get in her eyes. Not only are they handy for my “big helper” but me too! When one of my babies have made a mess, I can grab a Clorox wipe and be there super quick (which happens a lot around here!).

We love Clorox wipes! I’m able to use them around the house for almost everything and they are especially handy because my 2 year old leaves handprints and spills everywhere. I also like that my 6 year old can pitch in with chores by using the wipes to help clean door knobs, light switches, drawer pulls, and remotes!
