Lovely Ladybug April 4, 2011 – Posted in: Family
This weekend we celebrated Chloe’s first birthday!
We had a ladybug themed party for our darling girl! I’ve always loved ladybugs, and my days as a sorority girl deepened my love (and my collection!) and it just seemed right for Chloe’s big day. We have lots of clothes with ladybugs on them, but my favorite print is this sweet Gymboree dress I got Sofie when she was about 6 months old. I took the design of the ladybug and replicated it everywhere I could!
On the invitations:
On Sofie’s coordinating shirt for the party:
On Chloe’s bib:
And my lame cake decorating attempt! (I clearly didn’t inherit the cake decorating abilities like Meredith! Check out her amazing cakes here, here, here, here and here!!)
Before the party started, I took some pictures of Chloe in her new PBK Anywhere Chair. They’re pricey, but worth every penny! The girls have been fighting over Sofie’s chair for weeks so Chloe was thrilled to have her own (though Sofie somehow thinks it belongs to her, too!)
And I got pictures of some of the other party details, too!
I made these bows for my girls and the other girl guests using this amazing tutorial!
Guests arrived, we ate hamburgers and hotdogs, then killed some time while waiting for the rest of our party guests. Traffic was awful so we had a few late arrivals. In the mean time, Chloe took a little nap to rejuvenate herself! She was so sweet snuggled up with my Mom.
Later in the afternoon we went outside and had a pull-string pinata (much better for toddlers than whacking it with a stick!), then came in for cake and ice cream. Unlike her sister, Chloe loved the singing, the cake, and making a mess!
After a quick bath, we opened presents, and she was pretty much uninterested in being the center of attention anymore!
Then we said goodbye to the party-goers and all took a big, late afternoon nap!
Happy Birthday, Gorgeous Girl!! We love you lots!

Where did you get the bib and the dress

The dress came from Gymboree several years ago. I made the bib. 🙂
